Middle East Tensions and U.S. Connections
Members of WAMM’s Middle East Committee take a regional approach to analysis of tensions and progress toward peace in the area with the superimposed role of the United States always in view. In addition to updates on fluctuating international relationships and volatile situations affecting Syria and Iran, the presentation will focus on the impact of ongoing Israeli/Palestinian relations as a core of widespread Middle Eastern tension. Film clips and first-person accounts by WAMM members who have studied, traveled and lived in the Middle East will provide a textured overview. Background in the dual territorial claims of Israelis and Palestinians will be discussed and illustrated with maps and pictures.
